Boston Corner
Boston Corner is een Surinaams restaurant op de Bijlmerdreef, vlakbij de Amsterdamse Poort. Verwacht hier niet de klassieke toko inrichting, maar een plek met loungebanken en Caribische muziek. Boston Corner heeft de pech dat momenteel de hele straat open ligt. Gelukkig weten de klanten ze op dinsdagavond ook nog te vinden, waar wij ook deel van uitmaken.
Service kan beter
Ondanks dat er niemand voor ons staat, duurt het even voor wij kunnen bestellen. Helaas is de saté niet beschikbaar aan het begin van de avond, wat met een klein menu toch bijzonder is. Wij bestellen de grote portie nasi kip, want als je ter plekke eet kan je om een of andere reden alleen een grote portie bestellen. Deze kost €16, al komen wij er tijdens het afrekenen achter dat wij €18 per portie kwijt waren.
Plastic bestek
Ons eten wordt geserveerd in plastic bakken en als bestek krijgen wij een plastic lepel. Aangezien Boston Corner leuker is aangekleed dan de meeste toko’s, is dit toch opvallend. Het eten is verder wel prima. De kip is lekker mals en zoet, en valt zelfs met alleen een plastic lepel zo van het bot. De portie is flink en genoeg om nog een keer van te eten. Dat maakt het extra vreemd dat je alleen een grote portie ter plekke kan eten. Wel kan er iets meer aandacht aan de groenten worden besteed, want daar zat niet super veel smaak aan.

Met het eten van Boston Corner is niks mis. De kip is mals en de portie riant. Wel moet er wat aan de service gedaan worden. Want te veel rekenen, weinig opties bieden en eten serveren in plastic bakken met plastic bestek past niet bij wat Boston Corner uitstraalt.
